If you’ve got anybody you’d like to add, I’d love to hear it. I’d be amazed if I missed somebody after that. I’ll be back Tuesday night with an analysis of the long road to the Major Leagues.

Rube Baker will be left out of the lineup because as the great Jake Taylor once stated with sarcasm, “I think carrying 4 catchers is a good idea.” But there is room in the minor leagues.

Rube Baker – Catcher (Major League 2) and Jim Bowers- RP (Little Big League) mainly for some comic relief. Great stuff man.

Hey, Mike. This was a fun list and am enjoying your MLBlog! Continued good luck this season.

    Here is input from me:

SP – Monte Stratton. (“The Stratton Story” was my first favorite baseball movie. Jimmy Stewart’s character dominated the AL, lost his leg to a hunting accident, and then came back to pitch with a wooden leg and leave the game on his own terms.)

SP – Mel Clark (Angels in the Outfield, RIP)

Batboy – Bobby Savoy (The Natural)

Groupie – Annie Savoy (Bull Durham, no relation as far as I can tell)

I think you will want to make another addition or two when you see “The Final Season”. Same director of “Sandlot.” We just previewed it on MLB.com two weeks ago as it debuted at TriBeCa — “Hoosiers” of baseball, the true story of the 1991 Norway (Iowa) High School team.
